  • Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) are two ways a student may obtain credit towards their program of study.

Credit transfer is an administrative process, where a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) recognises and accepts Australian recognised qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by another RTO. There are no fees associated with a Credit Transfer.

RPL is the acknowledgement of a person’s skills and knowledge acquired through previous relevant training, work or life experience, which may be used to grant status or credit in a subject or a whole program (qualification). A student may apply for RPL after enrolling with the training provider. The student must supply evidence to substantiate the claim for credit. This may be a folio of all relevant documentation and must be assessed by the RTO for RPL to be granted. Unlike Credit Transfer, the student has not previously been assessed as being competent and must go through an assessment process to be awarded RPL. For this RPL process there are fees that must be paid.

“Completing my Certificate II in Health Support Services and my Certificate III in Allied Health through DIVTEC Training College in my few last years at school exceedingly helped me get my ‘foot in the door’ in the healthcare industry. When I first chose Allied Health as my elective class during school I was totally unaware what allied health actually was. However, completing the course and attending my placements I started to really understand what it was all about and quickly found out I had a passion for helping people, which has lead me on the path to my nursing career as a current studying RN. My trainers at DIVTEC were kind, understanding and enthusiastic. It wasn’t until my last placement with DIVTEC that I was offered a position on the Allied health team by Dani Cameron. She believed I had potential and saw the passion I had gained for helping people with disability needs on my placement. I am forever thankful that I was able to have the opportunity to be apart of the Allied Health team with such little experience. I’ve made many friends and gained excellent rapport with my clients. If you have the opportunity to be able to study Allied health in your last few years of schooling and are interested in a healthcare career, It’s definitely an opportunity you wouldn’t want to miss”.

    Ella

“Studying online in the classroom was easy to navigate. Dani my trainer from DIVTEC provided opportunities to have hands on practical experiences both in the classroom and within the Community to enhance my skills and knowledge that I learnt in theory. After completing my Certificate II in Health Support Services and my Certificate III in Allied Health , I am now studying Physiotherapy at university”.

    Tomas

“ I studied Certificate II in Health Support Services and my Certificate III in Allied Health with Dani my trainer from DIVTEC in Year 11 and Year 12, the class work was captivating and not just workbook theory. The trainer provided engaging activities and real life stories which made learning fun and provided an easy way to comprehend what was being taught. Practical placement at the Disability Day Centre was the highlight of my time, where it helped me apply the theory that I learnt into real life situations and gave me the opportunity to apply myself and all that I learnt. My trainer Dani was beyond helpful in explaining how I can use my Cert III Allied Health after year 12 and commence a career in the Health / Disability Sector. I am now as Support Worker enjoying working with clients and seeking to continue my studies with DIVTEC to further enhance my knowledge and qualifications”.
